In your walk through life as a believer in Christ, as one who has trusted in His work on the cross, as sinners condemned by our wickedness that have been reconciled to God through the blood of Jesus, we rely on one another for so much. On the long road home, Christ is our comfort and the church is our family. We say to “go to church” and we say even more specifically to “be the church” and we know that what that means is to treat one another as who we are: members of the household of God. Encouraging and bearing one another’s burdens, being stirred up to do the good works that God has prepared.
Look ahead to the prize, to the heavenly kingdom to which we belong, and see Jesus lifted up as our Savior. See Jesus exalted as our Lord; see Jesus as He has been raised from the dead as our Hope; see Jesus interceding for us daily as our High Priest. See the church, the people around you as a building and look to Christ as our cornerstone to ensure that we fall in line. Look beneath your feet and examine your foundation, your doctrine and search the scriptures to ensure that they agree. Run the race with endurance on the long road home, and persevere until we arrive to be with Him.
